taipei

ohhhhh there's been so much going on, i have so much to tell. let's see. . . cheris arrived on Monday. i had to keep her awake all day so she wouldn't have jet lag so we went all over town on my bike. i took her for mango ice and we went and sat and talked at the confuscious temple park. then went to the beach at night and sat and looked at the stars (what there is of here in taiwan) and then went to leza's for supper.
Tuesday - went shopping at the department store and got our hair washed in the morning. the evening we went for dinner at the greek resteraunt and went to the movies.
Wednesday - i took her on a temple tour. we went to 3 or 4 temples around town and i explain the religion and rituals. that night we had a scary movie marathon as i have no one here in taiwan who will watch scary movies with me.
Thursday the typhoon hit and we braved the weather and went out to my friend leza's house and we all had dinner and talked all afternoon. that night we went to caroline and hercules' for coffee and to look at their wedding photos.
Friday we left for Taipei at 6am and went to see all the sights. we spent our morning basically trying to find our way around but by afternoon we had gotten to the miramar entertainment park (rode the ferris wheel), chang kai shek memorial (absolutely beautiful) and taipei 101 building (currently the tallest building in the world). we finished our night by eating at macaroni grill in taipei. it was a GREAT day! we didn't get home till 2:30am!
Saturday - we slept in and then went to the jade market. we both bought some beautiful artwork! then we went home to get ready for ktv. my friend crystal is leaving to go back to south africa this week so we had a little farewell ktv. we all had to dress up as famous muscicians. cheris was gwen stefani and i was Jennifer Lopez. It was a blast. everybody looked hilarious! we had everyone there from Annie Lenox, Elton John, Sting, Avril Lavigne, Johnny Cash, Britney Spears, Eminem, and some guy from the band Coldplay. Tonight we are just at the house chilling. we're leaving for kenting tomorrow after church. I'm so not ready to go back to work next week! it's been so much fun playing around all week!
